This timeline distils 5 years of complicated interactions between the Social Justice Coalition and the City of Cape Town over the sanitation issues facing people in informal settlements.

It was done in collaboration with Ashley Buchalter and is based on her research towards a Masters degree in Governance and Rights at the New School for Public Engagement in New York. She is interested in the intersection of civil society organizing and public policy formation, especially within urban environments.

The work was done under the guidance of Professors Laura Wainer and Bob Buckley.
