WOSA Reports

“Who Owns South Africa” (WOSA) is an investigative series by Open Secrets that exposes the powerful corporations shaping South Africa’s economy. The first three reports focus on general power structures, private healthcare and private telecoms.

The aesthetic we developed was that of rough photographs together with crisp illustrations. The page layouts use a grid system to structure content, with the grids and boxes remaining visible. They contain the copy, info-boxes, illustrations, photos and graphics.

Open Secrets released both digital and print versions of these reports. The physical versions were printed on uncoated cream stock, with saddle-stiched binding. This created an accessible, low-fi aesthetic.
